I hiked two hundred miles once, it was in the spring of '68, and I had just graduated from Oxford after completing my fifth masters and starting the Peace Corp with Thomas Edison right before he invented the wheel. Back in the day we used to call trail hikes fishin' trips, and we called fishin' trips goopety gups. You could fry a nickel on the sidewalk in those times it was so hot and windy outside. When I was in school I had to trade in all my shoelaces for a pot of honey just to survive through the winter! So stop yer whinin' about some knee on some godforesaken fishin' trip.
